Such a HOOT!

Me and my lil man have been having fun making owls. He is very interested in my sewing machine and how it all works, pressing buttons, what this does and that.

So we spent a bit of time and made these little owl friends yesterday, currently named Hoot and Hooty. Once play is over their new home is above lil man’s bed with Frog.

“Let Go”

balloon
I found this piece of writing by an unknown author, and I really liked it as it I felt it was something I needed to remind myself of…

To “let go” does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else. To “let go” is not to enable, but to allow the realization I can’t control another. To “let go” is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands. To “let go” is not to try to change or blame another, it is to make the most of myself. To “let go” is not to care for, but to care about. To “let go” is not to fix, but to be supportive. To “let go” is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being. To “let go” is not to be in the middle of arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destinies. To “let go” is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality. To “let go” is not to deny, but to accept. To “let go” is not to nag, scold, or argue, but instead to search out my own shortcomings & to correct them. To “let go” is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes, & to cherish myself in it. To “let go” is not to criticize & regulate anybody, but to try to become what I dream I can be. To “let go” is not to regret the past, but to grow & to live for the future. To “let go” is to fear less & to love more.

A vision, a plan!

everything has to start with a vision, an idea of how you would like your life or things to be and you have to have a goal to go further with that idea”

Just upon drafting out my own “vision” for my business I came across this inspiring article and many others like it over the last few days of the creative artisans we have in our midst not only in Australia but right here in Brisbane.

I spent the last week working on my new website for ‘Sanchia’, what will soon become my online store. It feels like such an exciting time in my life. I feel inspired like never before. Now just to harness that and carry it through. Hence the planning and setting of goals. Its frustrating as I have so many ideas racing around my head it keeps me awake at night…I have been dreaming about designs, fabrics and all the other projects I am looking forward to. “Why now?”  I keep asking myself…”why not 6 months ago or 2 years ago”. Ah i guess it just didn’t happen then, other things did. But today is better than tomorrow…so here it is..my dream, my vision…taking shape in front of me…slowly but surely. And my main goal…to just enjoy it, see what happens and to work through the challenging times I know will come along. These are the times when I grow the most.

Plans

I came across this amazing conceptual photograph in my wanderings  across the net. It’s entitled “Plans”, and the caption that goes with it is: Do we enjoy the little steps to complete our desires? What do the hatch-marks in planning mean to us? In the end, I think it’s the journey that is important.

To have my own label, to share what I love doing, to create something beautiful has been a vision for a long time. The time I have spent learning what I know from life, my career, everywhere, has been part of my journey to do what I am doing now and with confidence. Never see anything as a waste of time or effort, put your all into whatever you do, even if it is to realise that it wasn’t for you. I hope that this or something inspires you to challenge yourself and follow your vision and love the journey!

“Spring,spring,spring!”…..

With spring just around the corner its an exciting time of year. I love the prospect of warmer days and less layers. Its the most beautiful time in the garden when things really come to life in bud or flower. It means summer isn’t far and that is the most inspiring time of year for me with my designs as I love the whole resort wear vibe. So there will be some new and exciting treasures in my store for the long lazy days of summer :) .
